265 acres in size and home to over 4,000 animals, the Bronx Zoo is the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States. There are many different habitats within its property, including the Himalayan Highlands, Congo Forrest and African Plains. Visitors to the zoo can participate in a wide variety of educational programming designed for school groups, families, teens and adults. Options for school groups include explore-on-your-own or guided tours, educational workshops, or outreach at your school lead by a zoo educator.
